Dr. David Livingstone went to Africa as a traditional missionary working in a church.  However, God led him to the interior of the continent to seek river pathways which would become the highways for future missionaries.  Through exploration, medicine, and the gospel, he opened the continent.  When Dr. Livingstone died, his African co-workers buried his heart in Africa where they thought it belonged.
